A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post announcing a series of interviews I did with other members of the faculty at a large conference on Lung and Head/Neck Cancers in Chicago back in October, 2006. Those were developed into a program collection called “Oncology Unplugged” that is in MP3 format for ITunes, and I described the first 3 of the 4 interviews in my initial post on it. The last interview from that series has now become available on the website of the Center for Biomedical Continuing Education. It features my discussion with my friend Dr. Ed Kim, Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology at MD Anderson, on the subject of managing treatment-related side effects in lung and head & neck cancers (transcript here, with figures, for those who would rather read than listen). All of these interviews are pretty heavy on data and are targeted primarily for physicians, but anyone who is interested is welcome to listen.
I’m doing additional interviews at another meeting this weekend, which will be available after editing through that same website. I’ll mention it as new information becomes available. I’ll also point people in the direction of patient and family-oriented content as I find it.
