I’ve been working with the Lung Cancer Support Community for most of the last year. From the beginning, Katie Brown, who heads that site and a lot of lung cancer advocacy work, has been a great partner as I developed OncTalk, and she’s a tireless champion for the lung cancer community.
I’m planning to do a live chat Q & A session on the LCSC website (www.lchelp.org) tomorrow (August 7) at 8 PM Eastern/5 PM Pacific (and you can figure out everything in between). I’ve done a few there over the last several months, and if I can just type fast enough, it tends to be quite worthwhile. For those of you who already know LCSC and are interested, Katie is sending around an e-mail alert and I think there’s a sign-up procedure to keep the numbers manageable. Her announcement about the session is here.
If you don’t know the site, LCSC offers a lot of great advice and tons of very caring people who can offer encouragement and know what it’s like to deal with cancer themselves or in a loved on. Check it out if you’re interested in the live chat tomorrow or in finding out more about the site in general.
And since live web chat ability is one of the things I’ve been thinking about adding here or after the expansion coordinated with the Global Resource for Advancing Cancer research (GRACE), feel free to chime in on whether this is something you think we need more of or if you have other good ideas for ways to offer useful information to people.

I am proud to be a member of this site as well as LCSC and be included in the event. Thank You.

Unfortunately, the live chat was so popular that the LCSC website couldn’t handle the traffic and froze during much of that time. Here’s Katie’s announcement.
We’ll reschedule and have people register beforehand. If there’s enough demand, we can do quite a few of these. Apologies to anyone who tried but couldn’t participate this time.

For me, knowing that your website is here and questions get answered quickly, I wouldn’t worry about a live chat platform. Between specific Q & A and the ability to search archived answers & topics, your site is enough for me. (I do wonder if you are really triplets or quads though!)
Thanks Doc.
