GRACE Donations Accepted Online

GRACE logo

People here have asked about ways to help the cause, because the nonprofit GRACE would really benefit from support from members here.  Startup costs are daunting.

The GRACE website is being developed, and I’m nagging the tech guys every day or two, hoping and expecting for all of the content from OncTalk to be imported over to the GRACE website in (about) 2 weeks.  At that time, the site will sport new and more feature-rich software, so we’ll have much more capacity to grow.  But in the meantime, we’ve got a page (link here) that can happily (eagerly, in fact) accept online payments using a credit card.

Please feel free to make this your new browser home page!  That yellow button on the right side of the page is your friend.  All of this support is going toward the momentum of the nonprofit — I’m not taking a dime for myself, and in fact, I’m still going to channel money into this, because I believe in the great things we can do.

Once again, the donation page is here.

Just wanted to let people know that the donation page is back up…

In case people were inclined to donate…

Since the conversion to new, much better software as we move to the GRACE website is going to cost us about $5000, and I’m on the hook for it…

I do want to thank the people who have already sent contributions on line or in the mail, but these initial expenses are more than what we’ve received thus far, and I’ve already spend literally thousands of dollars of my own money in addition to endless hours of my time.

For those who haven’t contributed yet but do value what we’re doing here (and your donation will enable us to DO MORE), here’s the web page that will help us build momentum:

    http://cancergrace.org/donate.html

    Thanks,
    Dr. West

HOLD THAT THOUGHT! The new site is about to go live, and the tech guys have been tinkering with it. They must have made some changes that temporarily changed the page, but we’ll get it back to the right appearance ASAP tomorrow (1/31).

Once the GRACE site is active, all of the Onctalk content will be moved over there, and all of the links for onctalk will just redirect to the right post, but on the GRACE website (crossing my fingers — that’s what we’re paying them to have happen).

I’ll get that yellow button back ASAP! We DON’T want to turn you away. Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi Dr. West,
I wanted to make another donation to this great up and comming site, and I had trouble, the link brought me to the site, it had the boxes with Column etc, but no yellow button.
Hey we got this up to the top of the comments again too so everyone can see it and maybe donate!
I will try again, possibly it is pop up blocker? but I had no trouble last time.

    Thanks
    Karen

    Amy,

At the last page of the process, there is a clickable option to include a text box for ”In memory of” someone, and in that case we’ll be very happy to notify the person who would like to be notified.  I’d recommend that people send an e-mail to info@cancergrace.org to say “please notify me of donations in memory of _____”, and we can send an alert.   We can add a line on the donation pages that also says that.

I’d welcome any other suggestions from you or others here about whether there are other things that can make the donation process straightforward and helpful.

    Dr. West,

Is there some way to notify people when donations are made in memory of a family member? My father recently passed away, and we had recommended that people make donations to GRACE, and I would like to send a “Thank You” note to anyone who did so, but I don’t know how to find out who made donations?

    Thanks,

    Amy
