<p>I'm the founder and director of OncTalk, with an ever-growing interest in medical education for both physicians and the general public.  I currently work as a medical oncologist and Direcor of Medical Therapeutics for Thoracic Oncology at the Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle, Washington. </p><p>After receiving my undergraduate degree from Princeton University, I went to Cambridge University on a Fulbright Scholarship, where I received a rather useless M. Phil. degree in Experimental Biology.  After tiring of warm beer and being forced to serve as an apologist for George HW Bush for a year in England, I moved to Boston to start at Harvard Medical School,  where I earned my MD magna cum laude and conducted research as a Howard Hughes Medical Student Fellow.  I remained in Boston for my internship and residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, became a Red Sox fan when it was frustrating (covers nearly a century), then moved to Seattle, Washington for my fellowship in medical oncology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center/University of Washington. I developed my interest and expertise in lung cancer there, staying on as junior faculty there briefly before moving to the Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle in late 2002, where I direct the medical oncology component of thoracic oncology program. </p><p>While I conduct clinical reearch in several aspects of oncology, my primary research focus is on lung cancer.  I serve as the principal investigator on several clinical trials of chemotherapy and novel agents and lecture and write about thoracic oncology around the US, and when I get the chance, internationally.  I started OncTalk in 2006 and am in the process of starting a non-profit corportation dedicated to cancer education.</p>
